Musical History of Disneyland Box Set<\/p>\n

Last week I started reading about it here<\/a>. Then it popped up over here<\/a>…<\/p>\n

I actually started reading minute by minute accounts of other people experinces with ordering one of the 5000 limited edition sets that are being printed. I got all caught up in the frenzy and drama of the Disnayana<\/a> types. AHHH I did it. I called Disney Direct and ordered my limited edition copy (hopefully mine will be one of the sets with the golden LP… not because I have a record player, but because it will look wonderful on my Disney wall).<\/p>\n

I’m not going to be shown up by those wannabe Disney folks. I’m the real deal and, if there was any doubt before tonight, a total geek.<\/p>\n

It’s actually a really really cool thing. This set has all the tracks that I scour the internet for, and always find crappy little recordings that people made with a mini tape recorder in their pocket.<\/p>\n

Update:<\/strong> So there has been a little bit of an online uproar about the ordering. I guess DisneyDirect.com put them on sale before midnight, and so many people who waited till this morning won’t be getting this set. I hear the entire stock that DisneyDirect was allocated was gone by 11:00 AM. Pretty crazy.<\/p>\n

So in a moment of OCD<\/abbr> I called to confirm my order had been placed correctly and they had no record of the transaction at all. :-O<\/p>\n

As it turns out since I ordered very close to midnight a overflow\/overnight call center picked up my order. There is apperantly a lag on order data being updated between call centeres. One Cast Member even said it can be up to 72 hours! I called back at about 1:00PM and was told the data was now present and I should recieve my set near the end of may. I guess even though I was in the first group to order, that call center lag put me in the second wave of shipping. I don’t mind waiting at all for this.
