I too have just recently made the leap from a position as a Creative Director at an agency after 8 years to venture out on my own. As a matter of fact I left right around the same time in August as you did. Your post sums up the beginnings of the experience pretty well... Had some crazy ups and downs in the past few months (October was a bit slow and was almost enough to have myself and my partner second guessing ourselves) But November and December have been incredible and overall I can't imagine why I hadn't done this sooner... but like you mentioned sometimes, you just gotta "take a chance..."
