It’s about 2:00 AM and I can’t sleep at all. About a half hour ago I got a bit of a sweet tooth so…
… I made a cake.
there’s nothing quite like baking in the wee hours of the morning.

Alright… I’m the first to admit that I rarely like anything that comes from the desk of Dave Barry. Somehow though this little tid-bit of his was published and I enjoyed it quite a lot.
Thanks to my friend amber for pointing me to it.

Today is my wonderful girlfriend’s birthday. I’m not sure I have the authority to divulge her age since she’s getting freakin’ old! *wink wink*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
A whole beach paradise inside a zepplin hanger
Kathryn Eller was my 9th grade English teacher, Student-body Office advisor, and a friend that I will remember forever.
Her door was always open to those who needed help, and also to those of us who needed to retaliate for some practical joke she had played on us. I will remember the the laughs we all had while she chased me around her classroom swinging a large french loaf of bread after I had sprayed her with a fire extinguisher. She knew how to have fun like no other adult around us. What was truly amazing was that in the middle of all the fun we somehow got through an entire year curriculum and we never noticed it.
She was an amazingly talented teacher and inspired everyone she came in contact with. I thank God that I had the opportunity to know such a wonderful person.
Kathy passed away suddenly the morning of December 30, 2004 in Salt Lake City after a brief battle with leukemia. A full obituary can be seen at Russon Mortuary.
Ugg boots are all the rage here in Southern California. Most of the folks who read this are from my childhood home (Utah), and they know what boots are really for. They are very simply for keeping your feet warm when it is cold. That is why I am so confused by the spread of these stupid colored furry boots known as Uggs here in the fun-in-the-sun capital of the world.
When it comes to ugg boots, there seems to be only three kinds of people. Those who love ugg boots, those who hate ugg boots, and those who just aren’t sure what ugg boots are – but, when they find out, they’ll fall into one of the first two categories. I’m absolutely in the hate group. Not because the are really that stupid… but because they are really that stupid in Southern California.
Anyway… lets address that bit about not knowing what they are.

I just needed to share a little funny chain of events from today.
It’s been many moons since I have had a haircut. It was very much time to visit the deal ‘ol Supercuts down the road. I was looking quite shaggy for every day outings… let alone the important meetings I have next week with some Parks & Resorts big wigs. Anyway, I knew I needed to go today and I let Janey know I was going. She wanted to come along so we decided to make an afternoon of it.
Many things happened that don’t really pertain to the point of my story including (but not limited to):
*As a side note I would like to point out that she did speak perfect english which is a stark contrast to anyone else that’s cut my hair from the same establishment.
So here is where the fun begins. During the hair cut the large loud woman reaffirmed that my hair was in fact falling out. Not in the sickly, coming out in chunks sort of way… just the standard male pattern baldness sense. I’ve long since come to terms with the fact that the males in my family have little to no hair on the forward portion of their head. I’m quickly following suit with my ever growing forehead. I’m at that really fun stage where there is still hair growing on the front… it’s just super thin so you can kind of see my head through the hair. I like to think of it a bit like the mystery of a forest at dusk. You can see fairly deep into the forest in the light, but at night it’s looks like it should. That may be an over-romanticized version of what is actually happening but give me my crutch eh?

Happy New Year everyone. It’s the early evening of January 1st 2005 and I’m already reflecting of events of this year. This morning I woke up early to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade. I wanted to make sure to see the very beginning since my very own Disneyland was doing the pre-show and had the first float in the parade.
I’ve been excited for this little event for some time. A few months ago while walking to my office I had an impromptu conversation with one of the instrumental parties in putting it together. I saw concept art and got a little run-down of what they had planned. Since then I’ve just been so excited. It sounded like Disneyland Entertainment was finally getting back into the hands of people who know how to cater to a theme park audience. No more of this artsy-fartsy crap that has been going on stages in the parks. No more high-concept mush. It seems were finally back to good old american song and dance fun. And it honestly was fun, I was smiling the entire time. I’m a very critical audience of Disney entertainment, and this really made me happy.

Well it’s about 6:00 pm on Dec 31st. The end of this year is fast approaching and I’m sort of just reflecting on this year. So much happened and It’s hard to even begin.
I don’t have any huge plans tonight. Janey and I are just going to hang around my apartment and watch movies and such. I’m not a real big partier as you can imagine.
anyway. this is just alittle note. I’m working up several bits of info to post here. so keep you’re eyes peeled.
It’s true. This is my second redesign in two days. I’ve taken some great things I learned from A List Apart to come up with this one. I still have the design from a few days ago… I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it.
anyway… if you have a moment please leave a comment and let me know what you would change on this design.
